Tampa Bay Rays ace David Price is again the subject of trade rumors, and he admitted they have started to bother him. “I mean, obviously I think about it. That’s why I’ve been in a bad mood the last week and a half. I think about it. You guys know that. And it’s nothing I really want to talk about. I don’t have an answer for you guys. I don’t know where I’m going. I don’t know when I’m going. So there’s nothing I can really comment on.” Rays manager Joe Maddon understands how the rumors can be bothersome to Price, but told reporters “there’s nothing I can say that is going to make him feel better, I doubt that. He needs to feel my support all the time, and I hope he does. Beyond all that, part of this is it’s a business, and sometimes when you get caught up in the business component, it makes it uncomfortable. … I think part of it’s complimentary. Part of it is disconcerting. I think a guy like him has been through a lot of different moments and always has been able to handle them.”
Wahhhhhhhhhhhh David Price is in a bad mood. Wahhhhhhhhhh he doesn’t know where he’s going or when he’s going and he’s sad and he doesn’t wanna talk about it anymore wahhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Grow the fuck up you baby. David Price just continuing to be the biggest thin-skinned bitch in all of baseball. You signed your contract with a team knowing full well that they move on from aging assets before they have to give them a huge contract. You’re a pussy and you’re dumb, but you’re not stupid. You knew goddamn well that the Rays were gonna at least shop you, and probably trade you at some point. You want to act like you’re the smartest guy in the room all the time, then don’t pretend like you didn’t know this was gonna happen.
And speaking of the smartest guy in the room, Joe Maddon basically even said that if Price didn’t see this coming he’d be an idiot. Of course he has to couch all his comments in flowery fucking compliments because he couldn’t dare damage Price’s fragile psyche. “Yeah I totally support him and I hope he knows that I love him more than my own family, but it’s part of the game, but really it’s kind of a compliment that so many people like him so good for him, he’s basically the best pitcher and person the world has ever seen.” So gross. Another day, another instance of David Price being softer than baby shit.
